Cynthia Montier is French artist researcher and intervener living in Strasbourg. Her work focuses on gestures of citizen and symbolic appropriation in the public space. She is actually working on domestic dispositives for socially engaged gestures, and running with the artist the Wa a curatorial instagram account @confinementart during the quarantine. She will be presenting “Private is political“ an online conversation between women artists and researchers. Using chating or browsing apps, they will meet virtually to exchange visual references about domestic art as work condition and about the presence of women in public sphere regarding intimacy and spirituality. This gathering will be readable from both physical and digital space documented in real time via two streams where the artist body becomes the interface: one stream showing the artist alone in her kitchen; one stream showing the interactions happening on her smartphone.
